Prominent Tiv folk singers including T K Baba, El-Stuffy, Gabon Akuhe, Thaddeus Tsaga and Bemdoo Kaki shall hold a two-day seminar from Sunday to Monday, 20-21st June, 2021 in Adikpo, Kwande local government area.
Participants will assemble at Wantor Restaurant along Police Barracks Road for dinner on Sunday evening before proceeding to Temchi Guest House along Adikpo-Obudu Road for commencement of activities later.
Interim President of the Tiv Traditional Singers Association, Mr Solomon Iornem, JP, in a statement said the focus of the two-day event would be the development of relevant themes based on the current challenges confronting the people.
He stated that participants at the seminar will cut across political, religious, and other affiliations just like the current challenges.
Mr. Iornem said the oral artistes will interact among themselves and other culture enthusiasts on how best to inform, educate and entertain the people in accordance with their role in the society.
The President of the Association maintained that traditional rulers and other leaders in the society are also expected to address members during the seminar.
He said a delegation from the State Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, led by the Principal Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism, Mr Tahav Agerzua, will participate at the seminar which will also feature live performance.
National Secretary General of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Mr Maik Ortserga is expected to coordinate proceedings and collate the themes.
